N. Douglas Henley, CPA
Doug, a Virginia Commonwealth University graduate, has been in public accounting for 32 years. Doug specializes in taxation, assurance and accounting services with a particular focus in the construction industry, non-profit organizations and small, closely held businesses.

Brian W. Minor, CPA
Brian holds a B.S. and M.S. in Accounting from Virginia Tech and has over 14 years of experience in managing audit, review and compilation engagements specializing in not-for-profits, contractors, manufacturers, and other closely held businesses. Brian provides consulting services to clients in the areas of risk assessment, evaluation of internal controls and financial reporting. Brian is a graduate of the inaugural VSCPA Leadership Academy and contributes to the VSCPA’s Ask a CPA Email Program for not-for-profits. Brian is very active in the Richmond region of F3, an organization dedicated to male leadership development through fitness, fellowship, and faith.

Jayne K. Salo, CPA
Jayne hails from Ohio with a degree from Notre Dame College of Ohio. With 32 years experience in public and private accounting, Jayne specializes in the areas of estate, trust, gift, non-profit and high net worth individual income tax. Jayne's wealth of knowledge in research and compliance provides invaluable service insofar as intricate tax matters.

Kendall J. Shaw, Jr., CPA
A Magna Cum Laude 1975 graduate from Wake Forest University, Kendall has 42 years of public accounting and private industry experience. Kendall's expertise includes attest services as well as corporate and partnership taxation.

Susan E. Kennedy, CPA - Assurance Manager
Susan is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, with a B.S. in Economics and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting. In 1989 she was awarded the Elijah Watt Sells certificate for high performance on the uniform CPA exam. She has fourteen years experience in public accounting after a ten year career in private company accounting. Susan has experience in tax and financial accounting, and currently specializes in audit, employee benefit plan audit, and review services. She is a past Board of Stewards member, and finance committee member of the Unitarian Universalist Community Church in Glen Allen and has served on the finance committees of several small not-for-profit organizations.

Jon S. Powell
Jon has 38 years experience with Harris, Hardy and Johnstone and focuses primarily in small business accounting and tax services. Well versed in employment and information returns, Jon is able to provide a small business with a full range of services.

Elizabeth G. Stith
A 1988 graduate from Virginia Tech, Liz has 28 years of experience in non-profit, individual, estate and trust tax return preparation. Liz has expanded her tax practice in the last fifteen years to include corporate and partnership returns. As an active board member in several civic and community organizations, Liz brings practical, hands on experience to our clients.

Mary Lou H. Ivey
A 1980 graduate from Hollins University, Mary Lou has over 15 years of public accounting experience to include individual, corporate and partnership taxation. Well versed in employment taxes, Mary Lou is able to assist on a wide range of business issues. Mary Lou is a Board Member for a mutual fund, World Fund Trust. Mary Lou currently serves as Treasurer of The Episcopal Church Building Fund and is a member of the Finance Committee for St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.

Doedy J. Markiewicz, CPA
A Pennsylvania State University graduate, Doedy specializes primarily in corporate and partnership taxation. Doedy is currently a CPA candidate. Doedy is active in the Gordon Athletic Association and currently serves as Treasurer.

Ronald C. Britt, CPA
A 1974 University of Virginia graduate, Ron has over 36 years of public and private accounting experience. Ron's expertise is in accounting and assurance services with specific emphasis in the insurance industry. Ron currently serves as Chairman of the Finance Committee for Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.

Angela Y. Swann, CPA
Angela graduated from Marshall University in 1987 and has 30 years of experience in public accounting. Angela is experienced in small business accounting, including compilations and reviews, as well as corporate and individual taxation.

Eric Pullin
A 2006 VCU Graduate with 7 years’ experience focusing on individual tax preparation. He is a current CPA candidate.

Cindy Stiene
Cindy graduated from City University of New York-Bernard M. Baruch College with a degree in Accounting. A New York CPA, at that time, she worked for Touche Ross and then Dean Witter Reynolds. In 1987 she moved to Virginia and rejoined the workforce in 1997 working in public accounting.

James W. Robinson, CPA
James, a 1980 Belmont Abbey College graduate, has over 37 years of experience in public accounting practice. James specializes in taxation. His experience includes individual, corporate, partnership, trust and estate, and non-profit returns.

Andrew Early, CPA
Andrew is a 2006 graduate of Virginia Tech, and has over eight years of public accounting experience. He specializes in audit, review, and compilation engagements, as well as corporate taxation. Andrew works with a variety of industries including construction, manufacturing, and non-profit clients.

Michelle Partrea, CPA
Michelle is a 2003 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with over ten years of public accounting experience. She has worked with a variety of clients providing accounting, assurance and tax services.

Beth Schulhof
Beth is a graduate of Mary Baldwin College. She began her career with a national public accounting firm and subsequently joined a predecessor to Bank of America in commercial lending. After 15 years she reentered public accounting specializing in various financial incentives for real estate development firms. Today she focuses on Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit programs and the Virginia Enterprise Zone program.

Eric Clark, CPA
Eric graduated in 2013 from Virginia Tech with both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Accounting. He joined the Firm in October of 2015. Eric has over two years of experience in audit and review engagements.

Ricky J. Talbott
Ricky is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, with degrees in Accounting and Business Administration. He has 4 years of experience in small business accounting with a focus on corporate taxation and assurance services.

Ellen Melton
Ellen graduated from VCU in 1986 and has both private and public accounting experience. Ellen is experienced in small business accounting, and corporate and individual taxation. She has been with the Firm since 2012.

Becky Saunders
Becky has over 40 years of experience working with accounting firms. She specializes in all aspects of payroll and accounts payable. Becky is an active member of several fraternal organizations that do volunteer work and is currently a lead officer in one of those organizations.

Millard Strickler
Millard graduated from VCU in 1972 and has over 40 years of experience in public accounting. He specializes in small business and individual taxation. Prior to joining the Firm, Millard was a senior tax accountant with another local accounting firm.

Tom Saunders, CPA
Tom graduated from Christopher Newport University in 1980 and has worked in public accounting for 35 years. He specializes in individual, fiduciary, and corporate income taxation, and planning and probate accountings for estates in Virginia.

Rachael DeBoard
Rachael, A Richmond native, holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has worked with a variety of clients over 10+ years in public accounting. Rachael focuses on corporate and individual tax return preparation and a variety of small business accounting services.

Robert Aspinall III, CPA
Bobby is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.S. in Accounting. He has a wide variety of experience in both public and small business private accounting.

Ryan Henry, CPA
Ryan graduated Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.S. in both Accounting and Business Administration & Management. He has 2 years' experience in public accounting specializing in tax & auditing services. He is a newly minted CPA in the state of Virginia.

Pamela Leonard, CPA, CFE
Pam graduated from Washington State University with a B.A. in Business Administration, Major in Accounting, and the University of Colorado with a MBA, Emphasis in Accounting. She has a wide variety of experience across varying industries providing assurance, tax and accounting services. Pam specializes in forensic accounting and consulting services.

Lisa M. Harrison, CPA, MTax
Lisa holds a B.S. and M.S. in Accounting and Taxation from VCU. She has over 20 years of experience in public and private accounting. Lisa specializes in individual and corporate tax planning and preparation and is an active community volunteer.

Lana S. Billett
Lana is a graduate of Radford University with a B.B.A. in Accounting.  With 20 years of public accounting experience, she specializes in providing payroll, compilation, tax, and general bookkeeping services to a variety of small-business industries.

Neighborhood Assistance Program

The purpose of the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) is to encourage businesses, trusts, and individuals to give to approved 501c3 organizations for the benefit of underserved communities. In return for these contributions, tax credits equal to 65 percent of the donation may be applied against state income tax liability.
